What we are offering

Boards, funders and members want to know what a programme has achieved and whether it is making a difference. We help you establish how results will be measured from the outset. We also carry out independent evaluations to help you understand progress, learn from experience and make informed decisions about what comes next.

M&E Framework Design

When you need it: you are preparing to launch a programme or implement a new strategy, or your funder requires a framework showing how results will be measured.

What you get: we develop a theory of change and a results framework that sets out what you want to achieve and how progress will be measured. This includes indicators, baselines and targets, together with practical data collection tools. We also train the staff responsible for using the framework, so your team can manage it in practice.

Baseline Study

When you need it: your programme is about to begin, and you need to establish the starting position against which future progress can be measured.

What you get: we collect and analyse baseline data for the indicators in your results framework. This gives you a reference point for assessing changes over the life of the programme. We also document the methods used so that later measurements can be compared meaningfully at mid-term and end-term.

Mid-term and End-term Evaluation

When you need it: your programme is halfway through or coming to an end, and you need an independent assessment of its progress, results and lessons.

What you get: we assess the programme against the criteria relevant to its purpose and stage. These may include relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability. You receive a report setting out the findings, the lessons that emerge and practical recommendations to guide decisions about the programme’s future.

Under the M&E cards

Every strategic plan we develop includes an M&E framework to help track implementation and results. To keep our evaluations independent, we do not evaluate programmes we designed or review strategies we developed.
